Whether you are looking to pick up the guitar for the first time, brake out of ruts you may be stuck in or want to add more flavour and colour to your playing, my aim is to help you to become a more complete musician... and importantly, enjoy the process!
BEGINNER
The MOST important thing about playing the guitar is the fun and enjoyment the instrument can bring you - something I aim for you to achieve and build on every lesson. No matter your level of playing ability, lessons will be tailored to your learning style and tastes in music. By introducing you to the basic chords and scales, I can teach you the foundations to be able to jam with friends or play along to your favourite songs. With just a small amount of knowledge, a little direction, and consistency in practice, you will be surprised at how easy it can become to pick up the guitar, pick a song, and start playing!
Throughout initial lessons, we can set specific goals and also cover the following;
Basic chords & scales, tuning, warm-up exercises, picking hand technique, ways to approach a song, learning to hear the difference between major & minor and how to build good habits.
45 Minute Lessons - £25 each
or book 4 weekly sessions for £80
I usually recommend weekly sessions for the first 8 weeks to build consistency, regular practise is key!
INTERMEDIATE
My intermediate guitar lessons are aimed to help enhance knowledge of the fretboard and build on skills you already know. We can focus on a couple of your favourite guitar players, hone in on their technique and learn how to utilise their style to improve your own guitar playing. You will leave each lesson with structured practice to help you advance!
We will also touch on the following;
Learning new techniques with your picking hand - this may include flat picking, hybrid picking, using a thumb pick or more complex finger style.
Breaking out of certain ruts that you may be stuck in, most notably...
The pentatonic prison!!!
Introduction to the CAGED system, utilising the whole fretboard using this system. The CAGED system not only enables us to find new ways of playing chord shapes, but also helps us identify scales, triads, chord tones and arpeggios in smaller, more manageable pieces.

ADVANCED
These lessons are targeted towards passionate guitarists who are looking to take their playing even further!
The one thing that I have always loved about playing guitar is that there is always something new to learn - the list of topics we could cover is endless and will always be personal to you.
but some of the typical concepts covered in advanced lessons could include;
Learning to play through changes
Adding more flavour and colour to your chord progressions using
different turnarounds and resolutions
Combining chords & melody
Understanding modes and how to use them
